We run outdoor adventurous play sessions for children of all ages.  Bring your children to explore and play in this newly planted 3 acre woodland in Roydon, South Norfolk.

About Fox Wood Play Sessions:

Fox Wood Play sessions are all about child led play - a range of things are provided to interest and engage children, but they choose what to do.  There are hammocks, a mud kitchen, rope swing, muddy hill and ditch, mud painting, bug hunting equipment, tools, a potion station, fire lighting, den building... lots and lots of opportunities for open ended play.

Some weeks there will be play suggestions on the black boards, craft, cooking, exploring nature, group games - but we recognise there is much greater value, excitement, adventure and learning to be had through children's own exploration and free play.  This is when children are at their most creative, imaginative, confident and resilient, working together, trying out new things, exploring their boundaries and building friendships. So whilst we do offer some activities the focus is firmly on child led play in nature.  We will continue to work on enriching the site to support your child's play and their engagement with nature.

 

About 15 mins before the end of the session we ask children to return tools and equipment to the log circle.  We gather together in the log circle and invite them to reflect on what they have enjoyed or found challenging and what they want to do next time they come to play at Fox Wood.

Age Group: 

Playing outside is great for children of all ages.  Parents are very welcome to visit during one of our sessions to see if our groups would suit their child before they book - please get in touch if you wish to visit.

After School Clubs are predominantly attended by children in the primary age range with some younger siblings coming along with them.

​

Stay and Play sessions are generally attended by toddlers and babies.
